hightide store

a sanctuary for slow living and design

The shops at the ROW come and go, but one that has been consistent over the years is Hightide. This flagship location is the first stateside outpost of a beloved Japanese stationery store that hails from Fukuoka. It’s a modest footprint, tucked away by the parking structure and easy to miss if you don’t know what you’re looking for. Inside, it is a sanctuary of Japanese lifestyle design, marrying the sun drenched California lifestyle with the functional precision of Japanese stationery culture.

The store is neatly organized, with shelves arranged in a way that invites you to take a closer, slower browse through the shop. The bright, minimalist space is filled with well-designed everyday items, from notebooks and pens to desk accessories and organizers. It’s a great stop if you’re in search of the latest and greatest Japanese stationery, or just to quietly peruse and discover all the things you never knew you wanted.
