niddo

the ideal weekday brunch

For a well-populated city in perpetual motion, CDMX really manages to carve out space for some peace to sit down with a coffee or tea and something sweet to savor a day watching sunlight dapple through the trees over the street. Niddo, a play on the Spanish word for “nest,” feels like a home. A place that instantly puts you at ease, a reprieve from the sensory overload beyond.

Niddo has a few locations sprinkled around the usual haunts in the city. A couple of them are casual restaurants serving up breakfast and brunch, the others are counter serve cafes serving coffee and pastries, and beer, wine and cocktails. A cluster of them around some quiet blocks of JuĂĄrez that feel like a sanctuary from the main avenue a block away. Niddo is the ideal brunch spot. Casual, simple, well-designed spaces that might lure you to sit inside. Popular but not too crowded compared to some of the other hyped spots. Where you can get a coffee and little treat, or start with breakfast and linger all day, shifting from the caffeine to alcohol section of the menu.
