ginza graphic gallery

an urban sanctuary for design lovers

Amid the glossy department stores and name brand flagships in Ginza, hidden in plain sight at the ground level of a corporate looking building, is a little sanctuary for visual culture. The Ginza Graphic Gallery is a space dedicated to the world of graphic design. Established in 1986 by Dai Nippon Printing Co, the gallery is a hub that celebrates Japanese graphic design, showcasing the essential role of design in society, from packaging to posters to signage and everything in between.

The contemporary, minimalist space lets the visual work speak for itself. The exhibitions are regularly updated throughout the year, covering a range of design topics from typography to branding to advertising in its two floor gallery space. It’s the perfect place to pop in for a shopping break and immerse in a world of practical creativity and get a closer look at the everyday designs that power the city.
