laïzé

a tres parisien cafe with taiwanese hospitality

In a city that cherishes the ritual of “sur place” at cafes, perhaps it is fitting for a cafe with a name that beckons people to sit down. Laïzé is a French romanization of “come sit” in Taiwanese, a phrase often used in Taiwan in the context of inviting someone to your home, to come sit for a while, usually accompanied by some tea. On the other side of the world in the center of Paris, Laïzé marries the French way of sitting down for a coffee with the warmth of Taiwanese tea culture through the vision of the Taiwanese co-founders.

The three locations are chic, minimalist, modern, offering a serene ambiance in an intimate space. Two locations are more coffee cafes, and one more of a bubble tea shop, all true to Taiwanese cafe and tea culture. It’s a combination of the traditional and modern, with coffee blends are inspired by Asian cities, quality brewed-to-order tea sourced from the mountaintops of Taiwan, and contemporary creations of shaken iced tea drinks loaded with starch balls and jellies that offer a taste of Taiwan. The shops, while intimate, are welcoming, true to its name, compelling you to sit for a while, and savor each sip.
