Right on South Front Street, just a stone’s throw from the train station, Kitty’s has become a beloved cornerstone of Hudson’s culinary scene, and an obligatory stop on any trip into town since it first opened in fall 2020. Over the years, it’s grown into a multifaceted destination that encompasses a casual chic restaurant, a curated market and cafe, a cute natural wine shop, and a lively backyard.
The restaurant serves up inventive, cheffy takes on comfort classics made with local ingredients and a nod to coastal traditions. It feels as like a more chic, more grown up version of the neighborhood restaurant in the town you grew up in. Elevated enough to feel cool but still unfussy and down to earth, or as they say, a Hudson Valley dinner party that everyone is invited to. It’s stylish and artful, the menu evolves with the seasons with sharable plates that pair well with their list of natural wines and cocktails.
The market on the other side is like Hudson’s bodega. The cafe serves up fresh made pastries and a light breakfast and lunch menu, while the rest of the market is filled with well curated artisanal pantry items, snacks, drinks and more, many from local Hudson Valley purveyors. It’s the perfect place to pick up something before boarding the train back into the city. On a nice day, backyard is open throughout the day for counter service. Next door is Grapefruit Wine Shop, which carries a well stocked selection of natural wines.
