gorgeous george hotel

a design forward hotel carrying a cultural pulse in the city center

While many visitors flock to the waterfront hotels, Gorgeous George makes a strong case for staying in the bustling city center. The beautiful boutique design hotel feels like an urban oasis and creative hub that serves both global travelers and the local community. Housed across two restored historic buildings, the hotel pays homage to its architectural roots while infusing it with contemporary art and rich, colorful design to complement the industrial, loft-like interiors. Exposed brick and steel are softened by lush plants and bespoke furnishings with little artful details that make it feel special and inviting.

This 5 star, 32 room property has everything you need in a hotel in terms of amenities, with spacious rooms that feel like apartments and a buzzy indoor/outdoor rooftop bar and restaurant where they serve guest breakfasts in the morning and host events in the evening. It draws a creative crowd, repeat visitors and stylish travelers seeking a central spot to work and play in the city. Gigi’s Rooftop serves lunch, dinner and “sour hour” with amaretto and whiskey sours, plus plenty of signature cocktails (with many non-alcoholic options) for sipping by the pool.

Gorgeous George embodies the city’s dynamic spirit, offering contemporary luxury in an unpretentious way with a pulse on Cape Town’s artistic culture. Whether staying at the hotel or simply in town and seeking a vibey spot for sunset drinks, it’s well worth a visit.
