// LOS ANGELES // SILVER LAKE //
perfectly casual persian cafe and restaurant for the east side
This precious little corner of Silver Lake on Sunset Boulevard has always been special. A little indoor outdoor situation that gives homey patio in the best way. Once upon a time, it was Flore Vegan. And then, wonderfully, in early 2024, it transformed into a permanent home for Azizam, which began as a pop up between restaurant and life partners Cody Ma and Misha Sesar. The neighborhood restaurant celebrates homey Iranian comfort food in a perfectly unpretentious way.
It’s walk in only, which makes it feel even more precious as a neighborhood restaurant. You order at the counter and then find a table on the patio. It somehow works just as well for a solo lunch with a book as it does for a spontaneous dinner with friends. The food is homestyle and great for sharing, with mazeh to snack on with barbari bread, and hearty stews for a comforting meal. Paired with non-alcoholic spritzes, mint tea, or natural wines and ciders, the menu is not long but has everything you need. Azizam is the platonic ideal of a neighborhood restaurant, instantly beloved among locals and quickly recognized by national food media.
