Vietnamese coffee is having a renaissance moment as the next gen diaspora introduces the wonders of Vietnamese coffee culture to the general American public conscience. Hello Em is the coffee shop within Little Saigon Creative that shares a space with Friends of Little Saigon, a community driven organization that aims to support the Vietnamese community and businesses through advocacy, community services, and events. Hello Em is as much a gathering space as it is a coffee shop. The space is warm and inviting, with varied seating arrangements under high ceilings making for lounge-y loft vibes.
The cafe menu is a survey of the greatest hits in Vietnamese style coffee drinks. From classics like ca phe sua da (shaken with condensed milk) and ca phe trung (topped with egg cream) to decadents like ca phe brulee (torched egg cream) and ca phe may dua (topped with coconut cloud cream, pandan and sesame), and with signature medium and dark roast options (beans sourced from Vietnam) there’s no shortage of options to satisfy any coffee craving. They also have sweet and savory food options from pastries to sandwiches.
