Let’s just get this out of the way. Most non-locals know about this place thanks to Terrace House. A lot of people come here for the opportunity to see (my personal favorite) Mizuki, who still (at least as of 2019) works as a barista there. But celebrity sightings aside, Lattest has a well deserved spot on the map of excellent coffee shops in Tokyo, particularly among the many coffee shops in the streets and alleys of Omotesando.Â

Now, what is a Lattest you ask? It’s the name of their specialty drink: cold milk with a strong shot of espresso on top. But their true differentiator is the fact that it is owned and operated by women, with some of the best baristas in town.Â

Go here for:Â a casual coffee break, an excellent latte, a brief work session
Order this: any of their espresso drinks (~400-550¥), they don’t play around when it comes to latte art, so you’ll be sure to have a drink worth photographing
Amount of time to spend: however long you like to take your coffee breaks. It’s spacious enough to not feel rushed
When to come: it’s pretty quiet in the mornings, a lot of people grabbing to go, so it’ll be easy to find a table, but may be busier in the afternoons
