What could be more LA than baked gluten free and vegan donuts? Fōnuts is like the incarnation of everything Los Angeles loves. Donuts (yes we love donuts), dietary restrictions, and having an outpost in the Valley.
So you might be thinking, ok it’s cool that these donuts are “enlightened” and not fried and whatnot, but that kinda ruins the whole point of donuts, right? Normally, I’d agree. I’m an all or nothing kind of person, when it comes to indulgences I either want the good stuff or nothing at all. But hear me out: fonuts are actually objectively good. Like I would pick it up over any regular donut. Don’t get me wrong, it tastes different from your typical donut (more like a lighter cake donut), but their flavors are always on point. Let’s be real, LA is pretty damn good at creating healthier foods that are tasty and crave-able.
The original location is on West 3rd Street, that strip that has all the trendy establishments. But like all good things in central LA, they also opened a location in Studio City to serve the hungry Valley population. Both are super cute and worth a stop by if you’re in the area.

Go here for: a donut fix that you’ll (kinda) feel good about
Order this: the blueberry earl grey fonut ($4.50) is a personal favorite, strong bias toward their fruity flavors. Also if you can’t commit to one flavor, they have mini fonuts ($1.75) in a few flavors.
Amount of time to spend: they do have some seating, but it’s more of a to-go spot.
When to come: no judgment on when you choose to fill that donut craving.
